What Manga Girls Read
The army of Japanese comics (known as manga) fans grows daily in both men and women. Unlike American Comics mostly targeting men, manga has a lot of sub-genres with some addressing exclusively women of various ages.
A manga is usually by one created (often with assistants) drawing a comics and writing texts. However, some group activities like the Clamp band, still a normal team of 3-4 people the most. Professional manga is next to amateur manga – doujinshi (Dojinshi). The following is mostly about professional manga.
One popular genre is Shojo (Shoujo) Manga literally, a young girl. Thus, women addressed audiences aged 10 to 18 Shojo Manga was created primarily by men, but then many female writers have emerged since about 1969.
Shojo manga is multi-genre and theme, including historical drama and science fiction. Often describe feelings of romance and related specifically to girls.
Many publishing houses specializing in this kind of manga – Shueish with Ribon monthly magazine Kodansha Nakayoshi magazine and with others. Most series were first printed in such magazines and then serialized.

A sub-genre of Japanese fantasy anime and manga called magical girls (maho shojo) tells of girl with superhuman abilities to fight evil force and protect the earth. Stories of magic and transformation, such as Full Moon wo Sagashite often feature girls with a secret identity. Magical Girls-known in Japan as majokko (Witch Girls) is usually not more today Magical Girl Anime the first of Sally, the witch was in 1966 . Refer This genre is one of hundreds of stories. Josei Manga (Women – Women Comics) is all created by women audience targeting late adolescent and adult women. Josei (Seinen for male) means simply female and is away from the primitive image of ladies' comics.
The stories cover daily life of Japanese women, sometimes in high school. Her style is a realistic version of Shojo Manga, and tends to be a continuity of female comics.
In contrast to idealistic shojo manga, comics Josei realistic romance with a clear and mature storytelling as Honey and Clover. Following are some of the popular Manga Series:

Yaoi is fictional media about gay relationships, but by and for women. Yaoi of Yama nashi, Ochi nashi, IMI "Nashi" (neither height nor sense, nor denouement) abbreviated. Originally a pejorative term supporter, is now is an extended and almost scientific importance.
Known in Japan as boys love (or BL boizu rabu) includes yaoi parodies, originals, trade and Dojinshi works. However, BL male characteristics, while boys stories relate to the shotacon genre. Both original and translated yaoi is now international.
Lesbian Stories Manga, anime and related Japanese media are slanged Yuri (girl love or garuzu rabu). Emotions (sometimes called shojo-ai by western fans) and sex are the concentrated second Springing in female targeted (Shoujo, Josei) works, Yuri is now in the male-specific (shonen, His) to those.
Female Manga in English gradually get more printed. The Web has seen read many amateur translator groups target only women and Manga sites online.
