No fat, No Fems: Gay male ideal

The idea of male homosexuals seems absurd to many in the dominant heterosexual world. Common stereotypes portray gay men as devoid of male characteristics (McDiarmid). Many conclude that masculinity exists in opposition to femininity, and because gay men are not sexually attracted to women, then can they are not male. The flamboyant, fabulous and feminine Sissy is a popular caricature of the gay man on television and film. Similarly, the quiet, asexual gay man is popular, because he did not make straight men uncomfortable with the fact that he enjoys sex with other men. Jack McFarland, the most famous character of the television sit-com is, Will and Grace, first in the category. His character is loud, silly, irresponsible, and the epitome of the classic effeminate gay man. Will's character, on the other hand, is attractive, intelligent, professional, and virtually asexual. One can his relationship with his best friend, Grace, thought of as with romantic potential he has with another But the man most gay men despise such representations. Their lives are quite different and more fulfilling to show as either the character of the people on TV.
Gay men are part of a subculture and subcultures often see themselves in a manner different from that of the culture's view of them. Homosexual men are no exception, and have their own definitions of male identity. Not surprisingly, men-of-love-just as people can judge how the heterosexual world that judges them. These men are twice minorities. They are excluded from heterosexuals because they are so different from so-called normal heterosexual Equality. They are often ridiculed and rejected by their gay brothers, who keep them unattractive and undesirable. Gay men do not look androgynous or obviously effeminate men for intimate relationships. For the majority of gay men, the flamboyant queen merely a diversion and entertainment offers to outrageous gay clubs, or is the ultimate hostess at dinner parties and gay functions. Effeminate, and overweight gay men have devised strategies to help them cope with their place on the periphery gay. Some protect yourself with a sarcastic wit, sarcasm, or blunted the facade of being. They live vicariously beautiful through the lives of their female symbols, generally, talented, outrageous or disturbed diva living and the dead. Whitney Houston sang a saccharine-sweet pop ode to self-love with the opening statement: "I believe the children are our future" in the middle of the 1980s (Masser and Creed). As one of the many gay female icons could they have been right. Gay youth, the future, and they can reject gay male ideal.
